Review: Toronto Major League Search Website

I had the opportunity to review a funky new site this evening, called Toronto Major League Search. It is a business locater website. It has a map function, a satellite function, and then a hybrid function incorporates both functions. That is really cool feature because there is so much detail.

The site is especially cool because, as the name implies, it is local to Toronto and it seems to have a lot of business links built up already. Plus, while it is obvious the site is designed to earn money through Google Adsense, the Adword campaigns are not “in your face” or annoying. Actually the site looks pretty clean, fun and cheery.

I played on TorontoMLS.ca for a little while, searching for things like dog treats (my company did not turn up on the search…sigh). The one disappointment I had (aside from my lack of face time on the site J) was that, when I click on a specific company, the name, address, phone number, and map location show up, yet the company’s web address is absent. In this day and age, I think the web address is a pretty important piece of info to have, even if I might just be on there for directions.

Despite the lack of address, I think the site is functional and pretty darn cool. I will very likely visit it again when I next want to do a local Toronto search.

Awrighty - we've added the ability to submit a business, and (for the businesses we have it for) URLs.

In case we miss any of it, you can now submit directly to the source too.

Hope that works for you.
